FOR MOLLY I — a tribute to Molly Ivins by the Mamas

THE MAMAS REMIND US TO "RAISE SOME HELL"

"And never forget to VOTE!" The Mamas, who have generously performed for St. Anthony Park Neighbors for Peace fundraisers, have written a powerful song about Molly Ivins. The Mamas are: Burna Krugler, Shelley Diment, Priscilla Thomas, Rebecca Buller, and Ann Fate, who wrote Molly I and is lead vocal. Nancy Olsen produced the video. See The Mamas website. Learn more about Molly Ivins. And get out there and "Raise Some Hell!"

HOW CAN WE END THE WAR?
photo: end the war event at library

On Saturday, May 5, 2007, neighbors gathered at the St. Anthony Park Library to discuss how to end the war in Iraq.
On Saturday, June 2, we asked the same question at the Park Art Festival. See the results.

AT THE SAP FESTIVAL EACH JUNE
The first Saturday of June is the annual St. Anthony Park Arts Festival, and Neighbors for Peace is there. We always have a table in front of the Healy Building near Como and Doswell. We hand out free Peace Pencils, and usually have some kind of interactive project. Stop and see what we're doing, and weigh in with your opinion on some timely issue.

2008 – "Pennyocracy" How would you allocate the Federal Budget? We gave each visitor 10 pennies to place where they thought the federal budget should be spent. See how your neighbors would allocate budget.

2007 "Dotmocracy" How can we end the war? Every one received three adhesive dots to place in any combination next to options of how to end the war. Our con gress people and 2008 candidates were informed of the results.

2006 – Issues We asked visitors what issues were important to them. See how they voted with stickers. Letters were sent to candidates telling them of the results. See the issues, pictures, and vote results, as well as some articles about it.
JULY 4TH PARADE WITH SAP NEIGHBORS FOR PEACE
Every year Neighbors for Peace marches in the Park 4th of July Parade. Anyone can join. Bring a sign with a positive message, or a flag, or just a smile. Walk with us. Show up at the staging area at the Seminary parking lot across from the Lutheran Church at 10:30. Look for the big Neighbors for Peace banner, and meet some like-minded neighbors. Help be a positive message for peace. See photos from past years.
